Life keeps everyone so busy. Work, kids, family, life in general. You look up, and the next thing you know you haven’t connected with your friend/family/partner-in-crime/soul-sister in weeks or months—-or (gasp) maybe even longer.

This trio is tight-knit. They enjoyed many years of great food, great drinks and great laughs together. We sadly became a duo when we lost Kathy in 2007 after a long battle with ALS. Kathy was musical with a beautiful soprano voice and penchant for the piano. This wedding weekend would have been her magnum opus for Amy. We hope you’ll help us celebrate in her honor.

At the top of the Chicago Athletic Association, this gem of a restaurant is the best view of the lake and Millennium Park. Lunch and dinner is divine. Terrace fire pits are fired up each evening.
Best to try to make a reservation if you can.

Green Door Tavern

Established in 1921, this neighborhood watering hole boasts many a historic moment including Mike and Amy’s first date. During Prohibition a “green door” indicated the presence of a speakeasy. Today, Green Door’s speakeasy—-The Drifter—-still exists and is one of the remaining authentic speakeasies in the city. Be sure to pop into the billiard room where Amy beat Mike at a game of pool on that indelible first date.

If you walk through the Game Room, you’ll find the swank Cherry Circle Room in the Chicago Athletic Association. Saddle up to the bar for a cocktail or slide into a circular leather booth for a delicious dinner.
